The James Street Tavern is a great little pub situated a few footsteps off the Cowley Road. Once run by the mayor of Oxford, the pub is a favourite with both students and locals alike.

It was taken over by new landlords in March 2009 and had a complete over hall to bring it bouncing back as one of Oxfords best pubs!

Serving traditional ales, international lagers, wines, spirits, yummy home cooked food and South African treats.

The pub houses a great big beer garden, pool table, table football, open fires, braziers in the garden, relaxed sofa’s and dining areas.

Special events often happen including mini festivals with live music, stand up comedy and BBQ’s/Braais. In the summer of 2009 we had a live show from Bill Bailey in our garden, so make sure you sign up to the mailing list to find out about future events!
